I urge you (Romans 12:1-2, 9-13)

Romans 12:1-2, 9-13
Letter of Paul to the Romans
Translated from Biblical Greek by Alfia Wallace

My cousin, Nick, asked that I read this passage at his wedding.  Not sure of what I was reading, I checked out the original and came up with my own translation.

I urge you brothers and sisters,
through God's mercy, to give
your bodies in living service,
which is your logical offering.

Don't just conform to the times,
but be transformed
by the renewal of your mind
to know that the will of God is
goodness, and gratitude, and completion.

Love is not devious.
So keep away from that
which is evil, and stay
close to that which is good.

Love each other warmly,
with tender affection
and in honor,
prefer one another.

Don't let your dedication wane,
but let your spirit soar,
serving the Lord.

Rejoice in hope.
Endure in tribulation.
Persevere in prayer.

Tend to the needs
of the saints,
and extend your kindness
to strangers.
